Kunstnarhuset Messen (Arthouse Messen) is an art centre in the heart of the Hardangerfjord in Norway. The purpose of the residency is to provide emerging and established artists, musicians, writers and progressive thinkers a port for free expression and a place to meet with other creative people in a small collaborative community.

Romana Hagyo und Silke Maier-Gamauf reagieren in ihrem künstlerisch forschenden Projekt „Anthropophyten“ auf die Virulenz der Notwendigkeit, eine achtsame Bezugnahme aller Arten zu erlernen und zu entwickeln. Der Wunsch nach einem respektvollen Umgang, verbunden mit einem Verständnis von „Körper“, das alle (menschlichen und nicht-menschlichen) Lebewesen als wichtig und schützenswert erachtet, wird angesichts der fortschreitenden Umweltzerstörung, die Menschen und andere Wesen abhängig von ihrer sozialen Situation unterschiedlich trifft, immer brisanter.
English: Romana Hagyo und Silke Maier-Gamauf respond in their artistic research project "Anthropophytes" to the virulence of the need to learn and develop a mindful relationship with all species. The desire for a respectful approach, combined with an understanding of the "body" that considers all living beings (human and non-human) to be important and worthy of protection, is becoming increasingly explosive in view of the ongoing destruction of the environment, which affects humans and other beings differently depending on their social situation.
